Hi all, first my disclaimer.I am not a DJ but am a computer geek that was hired to upgrade a PC in a dj booth at a club here in town. Until I can get this solved they are using PCDJ and wow does this program suck big time! lolĪnybody care to try and re-produce this problem on their system to see if I'm on to something? Maybe this would solve the random crashing that other users have not been able to solve. As far as I can tell it works well as long as we don't load too many mp3's in the database which kinda defeats the purpose of using this software in a DJ booth. I couldn't continue testing my theory but I tried with about 2gigs of mp3's and it still crashed on me. There's the difference folks and it solves the problem big time! Go back to the DJ booth, move all the songs but a couple gigs to a different folder, have the DB scanned again and no more crashing! On my laptop there are only a few hundred songs probably not even a gigs worth. Wait, I'm not done.6 hours into this job (I was doing other installs at the same time) I get a brain flash that windows hates dealing with large amounts of data and last time I checked, there was well over 20GIGs of music on the DJ system. Now, as a troubleshooting step I installed VDJ on my laptop and guess what.can't make the sucker crash at all!?! Arghh! I can re-produce this problem with no problems.even went so far as re-installing a fresh copy of XP and Virtual DJ with the same results. So here's the scoop, it usually crashes when loading a new song in a deck.sometimes they manage to get a few songs played but it eventually just crashes. Standard PC running WinXP Pro and Virtual DJ v4.3 - even though I'm not a DJ it was very hard to figure out how to use this program (great software BTW!). ![]() So here I am doing my forum research and I'd like to share my findings in hope others can point me in the right direction. Added a second sound card and some RAM as well as other various fixes.including them asking me if I could figure out why their DJ software crashes. loop and effect buttons are a little different now, and need some getting used to, but the sound is great in this mode, however, this is not my preffered mode of use.Hi all, first my disclaimer.I am not a DJ but am a computer geek that was hired to upgrade a PC in a dj booth at a club here in town. Now when I put my mk2 in regular mode (no timecode), for the most part, everything works, and sounds great. Even though this is all true, you CAN still control the mp3 with vinyl movement, but the sound quality is horrid, and unusable. the timecode quality will not budge from zero. however, on both decks, if the look in advanced view, the TCV red and green lines look exactly like they should, filling approximately 3/4 of the screen with it swing. When I try to configure the TCV, I use auto configure, at which time it tells me something is wrong with the asio drivers, and no timecode signal can be heard. My TCV's simply do not work with VDJ 4.0. Hello Everyone! I am in need of some serious help, and I am sure someone can give me a hand out there. ![]()
